The Thermophore ® Heating Pad
was developed to conveniently provide moist fomentation treatments whenever
moist heat is indicted. The Thermophore Hot Pack has a special tightly-woven
fleece blend cover which retains moisture from the air. When the unit is turned
on, the surge of heat into the cover moves the moisture from the heated fleece
blend to the cooler body tissue. These treatments are very relaxing and the
user may fall asleep.If this occurs, the switch snaps off and the unit
immediately cools down.
Thermophore ® Heating Pads are more
effective than other electric heating pads on the market because they delivers
very intense, moist heat. This enables the patient to maintain the highest
temperature possible through the temperature controls of the hot pack. The
Thermophore Hot Pack, along with rest, will gradually relax the muscle in
spasm, restoring its normal length and relieving pain. The moisture produced by
the Thermophore Hot Pack transfers the high heat deeper into tissues than an
ordinary dry heat pad
The Thermophore Hot Pack produces moist heat
automatically by drawing moisture from humidity in the air and retaining it in
the hot pack's outer fleece blend cover. The rapid heat rise occurring when the
hot pack is turned on forces the moisture out of the fleece blend onto the
patient's skin, speeding temporary relief to the treated
area.

® Heating Pads come in several sizes:
Thermophore® Standard Size 14" x 27": Because of its
large size, the Standard can be applied to larger areas of the body, including
the entire spine, both shoulders, and the legs. Versatility makes this the most
popular size. A fleece blend cover is included.
Thermophore Hot Packs should
be used at the first sign of muscle spasm or joint pain. A Thermophore Hot Pack
treatment is especially useful to help temporarily relieve pain caused by
muscle spasm or inflammation after a day of recreation, gardening, jogging or
household chores.
Thermophore® Standard Auto-Switch Size 14" x 27":
Called The Arthritis Pad it has all the features of the Thermophore Standard
with a New Advanced Four-Stage Therapy Switch.
Thermophore® Medium Size "14" x 14": Especially useful
for children, or on special parts of the body, such as hands, feet, shoulders,
elbows or knees. In many instances, it is chosen by people who are smaller in
stature and cannot handle the large size.
Thermophore® Petite Size "4" x 17":Designed
specifically for use on the neck, throat, sinuses and jaw areas.
Thermophore® Muff (Cylinder shape):Designed especially
for moist heat therapy to the hands, and may also he used on elbows and ankles.
